ZOMBIE BOOKS!!!

Ok so, (has anyone noticed I start alot of my posts out that way?? I have. tee hee) recently, if you all have noticed, there have been a lot of books coming out that are about zombies. That makes me so excited because I do like my fairy tale love stories, at the same time i like horror and suspense and just supernatural things. So today I thought I would make a post about the new zombie books that I want to read, and after their description I will tell you all why.

1. Generation Dead - Daniel Waters

Phoebe Kendall is just your typical Goth girl with a crush. He's strong and silent.and dead. All over the country, a strange phenomenon is occurring. Some teenagers who die aren't staying dead. But when they come back to life, they are no longer the same. Feared and misunderstood, they are doing their best to blend into a society that doesn't want them. The administration at Oakvale High attempts to be more welcoming of the "differently biotic." But the students don't want to take classes or eat in the cafeteria next to someone who isn't breathing. And there are no laws that exist to protect the "living impaired" from the people who want them to disappear-for good. When Phoebe falls for Tommy Williams, the leader of the dead kids, no one can believe it; not her best friend, Margi, and especially not her neighbor, Adam, the star of the football team. Adam has feelings for Phoebe that run much deeper than just friendship; he would do anything for her. But what if protecting Tommy is the one thing that would make her happy?

Reasons - Ok, first of all, look at the cover and tell me it doesn't say read me!! Also I love the fact that it is happening all over and they are trying to blend in, not take over and eat everyone. Also a normal girl falling for Tommy, leader of the dead kids, that is just awesome. From what I can tell the story is somewhat original and I love it!

2. Kiss of Life - Daniel Waters

The phenomenon that's been sweeping the country seems to be here to stay. Not only are the teenagers who have come back from their graves still here, but newlydeads are being unearthed all the time. While scientists look for answers and politicians take their stands, the undead population of Oakville have banded together in a group they're calling the Sons of Romero, hoping to find solidarity in segregation. Phoebe Kendall may be alive, but she feels just as lost and alone as her dead friends. Just when she reconciled herself to having feelings for a zombie -- her Homecoming date Tommy Williams -- her friend Adam is murdered taking a bullet that was meant for her. Things get even more confusing when Adam comes back from the grave. Now she has romantic interest in two dead boys; one who saved her life, and one she can't seem to live without.

Reasons - Again, just look at the cover, it calls to me! And whether I like the first one or not Im going to read the second, because Im gonna want to know what happens!

3. Never Slow Dance with a Zombie - E. Van Lowe

Romy and Michelle's Hight School Reunion
meets Night of the Living Dead in this laugh-out-loud debut YA novel by Emmy Award-nominated TV writer E. Van Lowe

Principal Taft's 3 Simple Rules for Surviving a Zombie Uprising:

Rule #1: While in the halls, walk slowly and wear a vacant expression on your face. Zombies won't attack other zombies.

Rule #2: Never travel alone. Move in packs. Follow the crowd. Zombies detest blatant displays of individuality.

Rule #3: If a zombie should attack, do not run. Instead, throw raw steak at to him. Zombies love raw meat. This display of kindness will go a long way.

On the night of her middle school graduation, Margot Jean Johnson wrote a high school manifesto detailing her goals for what she was sure would be a most excellent high school career. She and her best friend, Sybil, would be popular and, most important, have boyfriends. Three years later, they haven't accomplished a thing!

Then Margot and Sybil arrive at school one day to find that most of the student body has been turned into flesh-eating zombies. When kooky Principal Taft asks the girls to coexist with the zombies until the end of the semester, they realize that this is the perfect opportunity to live out their high school dreams. All they have to do is stay alive....

Reasons - Well first of all I loved Romy and Michelle's High School reunion, so... But other than that it just sounds kinda quirky. Margot and Sybil have to coexist with zombies and try to fulfill their goals of being popular and having boyfriends! I dont know about you but I dont think I could do that! I really want to see how this one plays out!

4. Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies - Jane Austen & Seth Grahame - Smith
"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains." So begins Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, an expanded edition of the beloved Jane Austen novel featuring all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie mayhem. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton-and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers-and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Can she vanquish the spawn of Satan? And overcome the social prejudices of the class-conscious landed gentry? Complete with romance, heartbreak, swordfights, cannibalism, and thousands of rotting corpses, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.

Reasons - Again, I love the cover on this one! Me and my mom were in Barnes & Noble and I saw it and showed it to her, lets just say she didn't like it so much. Teehee! Anyways, when I read what it was about I almost died! I love Pride & Prejudice and when I imagine Elizabeth fighting off zombies and trying to be the perfect woman that everyone wants, I die! I think that it is going to be amazing and I can't wait to read it!

5. You are so undead to me - Stacey Jay

Fifteen-year-old Megan Berry is a Zombie Settler by birth, which means she's part-time shrink to a bunch of dead people with a whole lot of issues.

All Megan wants is to be normal—and go to homecoming, of course. Unfortunately, it's a little difficult when your dates keep getting interrupted by a bunch of slobbering Undead.

Things are about to get even more complicated for Megan. Someone in school is using black magic to turn average, angsty Undead into flesh-eating Zombies, and it's looking like homecoming will turn out to be a very different kind of party—the bloody kind.

Megan must stop the Zombie apocalypse descending on Carol, Arkansas. Her life—and more importantly, homecoming—depends on it.

Reasons - The cover to me is quite interesting, but I read what it was about it pulled me in. A fifteen year old shrink to undead and someone making them flesh eating zombies instead! I want to know why! I want to know what happens and the things that she has to do to keep all of this from happening!

6. Zombie Queen of Newbury High - Ashley Ashby

Quiet, unpopular, non-cheerleading Mia is blissfully happy. She is dating super hot football god Rob, and he actually likes her and asked her to prom! Enter Samantha—cheerleading goddess and miss popularity— who starts making a move for Rob. With prom in a few days, Mia needs to act fast. So she turns to her best friend, Candice, and decides to do a love spell on Rob. Unfortunately, she ends up inflicting a zombie virus onto her whole class, making herself their leader! At first she is flattered that everyone is treating her like a queen. But then zombie hunter hottie Chase explains they are actually fattening her up, because in a few days, Mia will be the first course in their new diet. She's sure she and Chase can figure something out, but she suggests that no one wear white to prom, because things could get very messy.

Reasons - Again, so unique! How many other stories have you heard of that sound like this one?? I love everything about it, the spell gone wrong, the zombie hunter, everything! Im not too sure what the exact thing is that pulls me in but something does!
